Video Games Normalize Killing, Doctor says
I say … it seems like a never ending saga to put as much blame as they can on video games. If it’s not politicians, it’s doctors .. if it’s not doctors … it’s parents … if it’s not parents … alright I’m pretty sure you can guess where I’m going from here. The point is that, such research doesn’t fully justify that mature games does cause the mind to become more aggressive. However the publishing of such research will definitely cause a ruckus among parents and such.
“Exposure to violent video games, even E rated video games, increases aggressive thoughts, increases pro-social behavior and increases general arousal,” said Dr. Greg Snyder, a psychologist at Omaha’s Children’s Hospital.”
I guess watching an Italian plumber stomping on monster’s head while eating rainbow colored mushrooms is indeed bad? And here I was thinking that Mom would be proud seeing me wolfing down tons of mushrooms out of the blue.
You know, if people are indeed that easily influenced by games, perhaps things doesn’t look that bad if you look at it in another way. I could create a game that promotes my “XYZ” vacuum cleaner, allowing the player to experience the functionality of my products at the same suck away blood killing dust mites and nasty hairballs. Fantastic .. I better write that down.
