Capdase Soft Jacket Review

Posted by Dyna-Storm in My Reviews on July 22nd, 2007

Nothing Face There’s nothing like an extra cover to protect your Wiimotes and Nunchuk from scratches or reduce the damage when accidently drop on the ground. That’s why I decided to give Capdase Soft Jacket a shot. If you haven’t know, Capdase is pretty well known for its protective casing for Playstation Portable. I remember they came out with some stuff for the Nintendo DS but I didn’t really go notice. Anyway on with my thoughts!

Capdase Soft Jacket Box

The package comes with two “jackets”, one for the Wiimote and one for the Nunchuk. They also added in a wrist strap that hooks onto the end of the Wiimote jacket. That strap is actually kinda bulky so I just toss that aside. The original strap is good enough.

Wiimote + Nunchuk

Putting on the jacket isn’t hard at all. Just slowly tug the jacket until it finally reaches the end of the Wiimote/Nunchuk. All the major buttons are clearly exposed except for the Power, Minus, Home and Plus buttons on the Wiimote.

Wiimote

A personal shot of the Wiimote. Although the four buttons mentioned are covered, they don’t cause any disturbance. They can still be pressed as easily as before.

Nunchuk

Aside from scratch protection, the soft jacket does offer extra grip when handling the Wiimote and Nunchuk. When I originally saw the jacket, I thought it will have a sticky rubbery feel. To my surprise it doesn’t feel sticky at all. Let just say it feels nice to hold them. I’m definitely getting another set for my extra Wiimote and Nunchuk.

I only have one complain for this product, and that is the lack of area for you to remove and change your batteries. At the bottom, the soft jacket literally covers the entire area other than the B button. Therefore when your battery runs dead, you have to slip out the jacket to change the batteries. Although its nothing tedious, it would still be nice if we can just open the back part without taking out the entire cover.

Overall this is good product and I would recommend any Wii owners to get them. I give this product a 4 out of 5.
