In fact you can open the lid and flip your PSP upside down it wouldn't fall out. The casing fasten itself into the two small holes next to the USB slot, thus giving it a firm grip. For the memory slot, its made from hard plastic so there are some chances that it might scratch the screen. Personally I have applied a screen protector so I'm not worried about it.
