There are plenty of console protectors for the PSP slim available on the market, ranging from crystal casings to silicon covers to pouches. Personally I have tried Blackhorn crystal casing, Hori silicon cover, Logitech PlayGear Pocket and lastly Capdase Luxury hard casing on my Phat PSP. Unanimously, my vote goes to Capdase no doubt.

One look at the picture above and you would probably be guessing that this is a complete casing made from aluminum, which isn’t the case. The bottom part is actually made from a soft silicon / rubber material which helps in providing a good grip and comfortable feeling.

One of the things I like about this product is that, it protects the PSP entirely while at the same time giving you easy access to the UMD slot, USB as well as the memory slot without having to remove the unit from the casing itself. Another interesting feature is that this case can be made into a stand. Sadly the angle of the stand cannot be adjusted, thus you are stuck with just one angle.
The slim version spots some minor improvements over its Phat sibling. The overall design is smaller and lighter, and the bottom part of the casing is now covered completely, ensuring better protection for your PSP. The only complains I have is the unadjustable stand and the lack of direct access to the USB without having to open the top cover first. Other than that, it’s all good.

Overall I give Capdase Luxury Hard Casing a 4 out of 5.
Pros
- Lightweight, slick design
- Comfortable to hold
- Protects against scratches and minor shocks
- Easy access to UMD slot, USB and memory stick slot
Cons
- Unadjustable angle of the stand
- Need to open the upper part of the casing in order to access USB slot
Capdase Luxury Hard Case is available at Play-Asia. You may want to check out other products such as Capdase Alumor Metal Case or Capdase Soft Jacket. Full range of protectors can be found here.

Is the inside part of the case, where the psp sits in,is it padded with something?Since the back part of the psp slim has a glossy finish,I’m worried bout it getting scratched by the case itself. Is there any risk at all of the case causing minor scratches?
No worries, the entire bottom part of the casing is made from a rubber material and that includes the inner bottom part. Therefore getting a scratch on the bottom as the PSP sits in the casing would be very rare.
If you are worried about the memory slots scratching the screen, just apply a screen protector and it’s all good.
From a personal experience, I have yet to encounter any scratches caused by this casing. Although Logitech PlayGear gives the best protection (I own the Phat version), they just way too heavy.
Well thats a relief.I agree,Logitech does give the best protection(I own the Phat version too).Thank you so much for your time and also for your review,I enjoyed reading it and it was also very helpful,I have finally found the perfect case thanks to you.
Welcome =)
i was searching for a case for my psp slim and this one here caught my eyes. Can this case be used to block sunlight when playing outside? since i always bring my psp with me and play during the day. And does the psp shake or make noise when it’s inside the case? And if the case is firmly fits the psp, there’s no avoiding that the memory slot will scratch the screen, right? unless the slot is made of very soft rubber or something. I hope you can answer my question, and nice review you got there.
Sad to say this case can’t be used to block sunlight as the lid of the casing is the loose type (unlike Logitech’s)
As for the PSP shaking or making noise, I can assure you that it will not happen. In fact you can open the lid and flip your PSP upside down it wouldn’t fall out. The casing fasten itself into the two small holes next to the USB slot, thus giving it a firm grip.
For the memory slot, its made from hard plastic so there are some chances that it might scratch the screen. Personally I have applied a screen protector so I’m not worried about it.
Hope I answered all your questions and thanks for reading my blog =)
how many days did you wait right after the payment for this case from playasia? i bought one from them but it’s been 10 days and i still didn’t get it. i’ve heard it’s usually take 1 week.
Depends on where you are also. Mine took about 5 to 7 days to arrive at my doorstep.
The Wifimax I purchased took about a week
anyone know does this new capdase case will fix on old phat psp?
Nope it wouldn’t fix on the old PSP. The capdase casing for Phat PSP is much thicker compared to the new one.
