Another Boulder Removed …

After 5 days of “hard” work, I finally submitted my game assignment last night. Yeah that’s another stress boulder removed but then again, I will be back looking at codes, algorithms and logics before I know it. Have to admit, it was pretty fun tho to create a simple game using DXStudio. It has the simplicity of drag and drop, yet you can still add your own codes to suit your needs. Heck I even manage to turn a gas tank into a DNA duplicating machine. Just how cool is that? The only set back I have is that the program uses its own extension for 3D objects. It’s a bit of a hassle to convert as most 3D objects are created from 3D Studio Max. Other than that it’s all good. Give it a try if you want to venture into simple game creations.

The period between mid May and early June would be where my stress level will reach it’s peak. Tons of assignment deadlines not to mention I will be taking my SCJP exam (Sun Certified Programmer). Hopefully I will get that out of the way without much problems and head on to web component development.

Alright that’s enough about programming stuff and on to more serious matters; GAMES! Grand Theft Auto 4 has finally reach store shelves and I’m sure tons of hardcore Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners would have been by now left reality to go on a massive car jacking sessions. Although I’m not a huge fan of the serious, I find them enjoyable … to a certain extend. The games are indeed fantastic at the beginning but towards the end, the difficulty of the missions are enough to provoke you to smash your TV, punch up your friend sitting next to you or whatever you can get your hands on. Okay that’s a bit over exaggerating but really, the end missions are just too damn hard. That is why I never get to complete any GTA games before.

While GTA IV is taking over lives of Microsoft and Sony gamers, Nintendo also has its own ‘Auto-Action’ with Mario Kart Wii for the Wii that comes with Wii Wheel for Wii players to get their hands behind the wheel, Wii style! *cough* Anyway has anyone gotten their hands on this game yet? Does it feel weird (or dumb) to be turning a wheel that could be used as a frisby? I probably wouldn’t be getting this anytime soon. I have yet to complete start on Super Mario Galaxy which I borrowed from Neko from 2 months ago! In fact the small white box that illuminates blue lights has been sitting in my drawer, not moving a muscle.

My gaming sessions lately has been nothing but grinding missions on Crisis Core. Clocking at 50+ hours I reached the 89% mark. This is the longest game I have ever played on the PSP to date, taking over Jeanne D Arc which previously took me about 20+ or so to complete. Like they say, A Final Fantasy game isn’t complete without a super uber hard side-quest boss. That’s probably why I don’t feel bored going through the missions, which is basically the same since from the beginning; go in, find the enemy, kill it, get materia or items, repeat.

Originally I wanted to just head on and complete the main storyline, then return back to finish off the missions. Thankfully my mind got the better of me. After some keystrokes on Google, it was devastating to find out that all your mission progress will be wiped out after new game+. No way am I going to grind through 30+ hours for missions again.

My Crisis Core Stats

With 11% to go, I hope to obtain all the Genji sets before taking on Minerva. I have already gotten Genji Shield, and the path to get Genji Armor is so near … yet so far. All my DMW percentage has reached 100% except for Genesis! Dammit just show your final scene and give me my armor!

Alright time for more mission grinding.

*Snippet* For fans of Sonic The Hedgehog, here’s something to sparkle up your day. SavyGamer recently made a post about a group from the ‘sonic community’ (TheSonicRetard) remaking Sonic 2 (Sega 16bit) in HD! The work in progress screenshots look awesome and I hope they get to finish it. Sega, you wouldn’t send your law-men gangstas to these guys, would you?
