Those That Caught My Eye
I have been slacking off lately in terms of posting stuff related to gaming. As I mentioned in some of my previous post, this two weeks isn’t really going too well for me, thus lowering my mood to a mere zero. Well enough is enough, time to get back on my feet and blast my comments on some of the things happening in E3 2007.

Right, first up is Wii Fit for the Nintendo Wii. I have to say this is one good piece of an add-on. The current Wii games had already made gamers swinging like Jedis, jumping like Donkey Kong, squating like Rambo(?), shaking etc etc and with this Wii Fit, you can say you have a complete set of fun workout equipment right at your own home. I don’t actually own a Wii but I can tell that Wii Fit is definitely going to be “fitting”. While it might not replace actual exercises (jogging, swimming), but hey, at least you have something to do on a rainy day.

Back here, I mentioned some rumours about PlayStation Portable “2″ which Sony finally announced during E3 2007. It’s not actually an entire new PSP but its a revamped version of it. The new design PSP will be lighter, slimmer, has HD AV output, increased memory from 32mb to 64mb, faster loading time and other tweaks. Personally the new stuff that was added is a fine enhancement but Sony has yet to solve the main issue, the controls. Playing long hours using the analog stick can be stressful and not to mention my hands feels cramp. Luckily I’m using the Logitech PlayGear Pocket. It adds a lot more weight but at least I gain more width for my hand to relax. More information about the new PSP can be found here.
Playstation 3 pricecut vs Microsoft Xbox360 3 years warranty. At first I was feeling happy that Sony is cutting the prices for its 60GB version by USD$100. Later on I found out that the $499 is a cheap way to get rid of “old” stocks in hand (Source). Once they are gone, Sony America will not be producing anymore 60GB versions thus leaving gamers with a 80GB @ $599. So where does they leave us? Back to square ONE! Nice going SCEA. (- 1 for reputation). On another note, kudos to Microsoft for extending the warranty. Nintendo has no news on either Wii or NDS.

Metal Gear Solid 4, my most anticipated game for 2007 2008 for the Playstation 3. Watching the new trailer gave out even more questions than answers. Seems like FoxDie is really going out of hand, messing with nanomachines inside the human body. As I’m typing this, I can assure you that Xbox fans are fighting with PS fans on this game, mainly on its exclusivity. Xbox fans say “MGS4 will be ported to 360!”, PS fans saying “no way in hell!”. I say .. “shut up and just let the game be released first, then argue!”. When that happens, I will be too busy playing it, leaving those console fanboys to their endless arguments.
Other Wrap-Ups
- Gears of War PC (fantastic! … if you own a powerful computer)
- Assassin Creed (looking good)
- Mario Kart Wii (finally an arcade version of MK right at your own home!)
- Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles (SWEET~!)
- Devil May Cry 4 (think gamers will be better off on Xbox360 and PS3 versions)
- The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass (still waiting for it to drop down from the sky)
- Naruto Rise Of a Ninja (concept is interesting, hope they can pull it off)
I guess that’s all I can write for tonight. Will continue to add if I come across anymore interesting stuff.
