OTTERBOX Commuter Case for HTC Desire HD Review
If you are looking for a nice slick case to protect your HTC Desire HD, you may want to take a look at OTTERBOX HTC Desire HD Commuter Case.
Before I proceed on further with my quick review of the case, I would like to state that there are different types of cases available from OTTERBOX, mainly;
I’m not exactly sure where does Impact stands in but for the other two, the name pretty much explains itself. Defender is for those who wants tougher protection at the expense of thickness whereas Commuter will provide protection with minimal added bulk.
The one I managed to look at yesterday was the Commuter Case for the Desire HD. At first glance you will no doubt notice that this is a high quality piece of casing. It comes with 2 layers; a soft yet durable silicone and a single piece custom molded polycarbonate shell. Overall it feels great and doesn’t take away the slickness of the phone.
So here comes the million dollar question, “Just how tough is it?”.
As demonstrated by my friend Nicky, he accidentally dropped his Desire HD phone into a drain few days ago and the phone survived without a scratch. As a matter of fact I didn’t notice any damage on the case itself, scratches and all. See for yourself from the pictures below.

As you can see it’s pretty much spotless despite the brutal incident.
While it’s all good, the case does suffer the same fate like any other silicone casing, attracting dust. As time passes you will find dust stuck under the polycarbonate shell, but nothing that can’t be fix with a simple cleaning.
My conclusion? Definitely a worthy case for the HTC Desire HD. If you are in the market to find a case for your HTC Desire or any other smartphone, try OTTERBOX. I’m currently looking for one for my iPhone 4 as well

- Durable (heck it surfaced a crash into the drain)

- Doesn’t add much bulk to the Desire HD
