Top Recommended PSP Products and Accessories

Posted by Dyna-Storm in Play-Asia on August 21st, 2009

As a PSP owner myself, I’m always looking out for interesting products or accessories to go along with it, namely protectors and accesories. Here are my personal top 10 picks for PSP products which you can easily find from Play-Asia. They provide free delivery to major countries.

Capdase Luxury Hard Case

This is by far my favourite casing for the PSP.  It’s light, covers the entire PSP and provides two slots for your memory cards. You can check out my review here.

XCM Multi-Consoles Component Cable V3

If you own a couple of the current generation game consoles along with the PSP,  you might want to consider picking this up. It is a lot cheaper compared to buying separate component cables for your game consoles and best of all it works on the Xbox360, PS3 and Wii. One cable to rule them all?

Dissidia: Final Fantasy

If you are lucky the game will be out by the time you read this post. Definitely one of the most anticipated game for 2009. You might want to check out the Asia version as they are cheaper compared to the US version. Don’t worry the game will be in full English.

Hori Full Protection Filter Portable 3

I think no PSP owner should miss this product. Think of it as something similar to screen protectors except that it covers the core areas of your PSP, preventing scratches. Couple it with the capdase casing and you will have a full-fledged protection.

Sony Traveler Case for PSP

The Sony traveler case looks very similar to Logitech’s PlayGear Pocket and provides a good overall protection. Guess it just depends whether you prefer Sony or Logitech.

Logitech’s PlayGear Pocket

PlayGear Pocket was the first PSP protector I have purchased for the Phat PSP. In terms of protection, I would say the PlayGear Pocket offers better security than Capdase but it’s a lot heavier. Regardless it’s still a good protection casing.

PSP GPS Receiver

What can I say? GPS is a must have device today, especially those on the go. Save yourself a couple of hundred bucks by purchasing this baby only at USD$60.

Hori Car Stand for PSP

If you plan to use the PSP GPS for navigation, you will probably need this car stand.

Street Fighter IV Fightpad Pre-Ordered!

Posted by Dyna-Storm in Play-Asia on January 15th, 2009

I pre-ordered the Street Fighter IV Fightpad before it goes out of stock. Better not risk having the game on launch day but no gamepad. We all know how sucky those official Xbox controllers are for games like these.

Checkout this post to find out more about the Fightpads and Fightsticks from Mad Catz.

Street Fighter IV – Be Prepared!

Posted by Dyna-Storm in Play-Asia on January 13th, 2009

Street Fighter IV

Street Fighter IV is coming to the consoles a lot sooner than I thought. Having just released on the arcades last year, I was expecting more of a mid 2009 release date.

With just one month to go, quite a number of Street Fighter IV gamepads and arcade joysticks surfaced, especially from Mad Catz. Let’s check out these gears.

The Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

Mad Catz Official SF4 FightStick

This is one joystick to drool over, and the one to buy if you are thinking of going serious with Street Fighter IV. It is the first to use the same japanese style ball-handled joystick and 30 mm action buttons, similar to the ones found on the official arcade cabinet of Street Fighter IV. Coupled with the exact layout, you can’t get any more serious than this.

Mad Catz SF4 FightStick Mad Catz SF4 Ken FightPad

For more casual gamers, there are also basic FightSticks as well as Fightpads for both consoles. I myself would probably pick up the latter as I sucked so bad with joysticks. Available Fightpads are Chun-Li, Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Blanka. Pretty awesome looking.

Hori SF4 Joystick

Hori will also be releasing their own Street Fighter IV arcade joysticks for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

With all the available peripherals, we are definitely ready to take on Street Fighter IV.

Time to get those quarter circle moves in motion folks!

It Finally Arrives

Posted by Dyna-Storm in Play-Asia on January 5th, 2009

It was shipped on the 24th of December and only arrived today.

Man I couldn’t have picked a better time to buy a game. Christmas + New Year holidays sure slow things down. But screw that … it’s finally here.

Dead Rising

Nothing extraordinary as what you might think, just a copy of Dead Rising. As a new Xbox 360 owner, it was literally impossible to find these early generation games. Games that add into my hard to find list (in stores that is) are Ace Combat 6 and Dead of Alive 4.

Those out there who are still looking for the game, check it out at Play-Asia here. There are still stocks available and it includes free shipping to major countries.
