Will Dead Rising Wii Pull Off a 100 Zombies?

Posted by Dyna-Storm in Personal on August 19th, 2008

It has been THE question all these while for Capcom. “Will Dead Rising Wii be able to pull off the same crazy amount of zombies like on the Xbox360?”. Obviously that is impossible to achieve, unless Capcom decides to render each zombie as cardboxes. I played Dead Rising a little back when it came out and the massive massacre of zombies was the main attraction of the game. Just pick up anything you can find and start hammering your way through, endlessly.

The preview gameplay shows just about 10 zombies on screen, which makes it look … dead. Then again Capcom assures us that when the game ships, we will be able to see at least a hundred on screen at the same time. A hundread without any loss of framerate or details is actually a very high achievement, especially when you take into account the capabilities of the Wii. Guess we just have to wait and see.

An awesomely ‘fingerised’ MGS4 no doubt.

Love The Game Or Love The Console?

Posted by Dyna-Storm in Personal on July 20th, 2008

Looks like my Metal Gear Solid 4 review is gonna take a while. Still haven’t got that ‘click’ in my head to get down to finishing it.

I understand that there are times we get sadden or pissed off because a particular game isn’t going to be released on a particular console, like let say Gears of War which particularly wouldn’t see the light on a PS3 unless the sky falls down. Back when I heard that Ace Combat 6 will be releasing on the Xbox 360 with no news for the PS3, I was pretty stunned. Ace Combat games has always been on the Sony console from the very beginning and suddenly, it just vanished. Perhaps fans of Fatal Frame would probably share the same light as the 4th game is going to the Wii. Thankfully I own one, so it’s cool.

However I find it extremely hard to interpret a person who gets on the suicidal mode just because his or her favourite will be releasing together with another console, like this guy over here.

funny pictures

Right ….. so Final Fantasy XIII will be releasing on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Big deal. It’s still going to be on the PS3 so why the drama? I guess old school gamers should go boycott the hell out of SquareEnix for releasing Final Fantasy 7 on the Playstation instead of sticking with Nintendo.

In the end, it all comes down to this one simple question; Love the game or love the console?

Getting the Flow Back …

Posted by Dyna-Storm in Personal on July 15th, 2008

It has been two weeks since I did any post and I have to say I’m having a rough time trying to get back on track with regular postings. Last night I only managed to write a small portion of my Metal Gear Solid 4 review before calling it quits. Two weeks may seem short to some, but it’s enough to make me sluggish.

I will continue the review tonight. In the mean time watch this E3 2008 trailer of Final Fantasy XIII.

What!? No more 80GB version for the PlayStation 3???

Posted by Dyna-Storm in Personal on June 15th, 2008

PlayStation 3 Discontinued

My information gathering for Sony’s console is seriously outdated. Last Friday I went out to scout for the available prices and found out that the 80gb version is obsolete … kaput … nada, well at least in the terms of getting Sony’s 1 year warranty. I’m pretty sure I can still find export sets around here somewhere but no way in hell am I going to spend a small fortune and not getting a proper security in case anything goes downhill.

The prices I gathered so far was $599 for 40gb and $899 (or was it $799) for the Metal Gear Solid 4 special edition that comes with a copy of Japanese MGS4. As much as I would love to own the special edition, the extra ‘moo-lah’ will definitely put a ‘Smash’ blow to my wallet, pocket and pants, so that’s a pass. Not to mention my level of Japanese language is pretty much the “A for apple, B for boy” standard, thus it’s kinda useless to keep the jap version of MGS4.

So 40gb PS3 + extra dual shock controller + HDMI cables + a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 gonna cost a grand total of about $800 bucks. *Cough* think there’s a need for some adjustments to be made. Perhaps I can do away without the HDMI cables for now … wait hold it. Does the standard package comes with component cables or just normal AV ones? I pray it’s the former not the later.

Anyone can enlighten me?
