Nostalgia from 10 years ago came to kick me from behind a few months back, which has gotten me playing nothing but Starcraft lately on Garena. I’m sure DoTA players would know what is Garena or GG-client. For those who don’t, it’s basically like Hamachi which creates a virtual LAN for you to play among friends, like as if … well on a LAN of course.

Anyway to cut a long story short, me and my friends were having problems playing Garena. The moment a 4th person tries to join the game, chances are high that his / her starcraft will crash. I think out of so many times we tried, only once or twice we manage to get the game running with 4 players.

Being frustrated over this issue, me and Neko have decided to give hamachi a try. Bad choice. Things didn’t go well. Starcraft doesn’t run with the latest version of Hamachi so had to revert back to the older versions. We manage to get the game running once but after some extra fiddling, the situation got worse.

We encountered a problem that makes absolutely no sense. Neko was the first to get it and when he told me it makes no sense, I didn’t expect it to be that  … senseless. Really … if any of you can understand this error, please enlighten me. It really makes no freaking sense! Heck I sure even computer expert couldn’t make any sense out of this.

Well? I wonder who is the wise guy that coded this error message …

Super Smash Brothers Brawl doesn’t make me bring out my ‘haven’t touch in months’ dusty Wii, neither does Mario Kart Wii or even Wii Fit. Throw Fatal Frame IV at my face and you see the Wii appear next to my table in a split second. Even if I don’t, my girlfriend would make it appear in a split second. Believe me.

Overjoyed to hear that Fatal Frame IV will be released in Japan in July 31st and even more ‘joygasm’ when I read that the game might be out in the US at the end of the year, it instantly goes into my ‘must have’, ‘must buy’ and ‘will kill to play‘ list.

Having said that, I haven’t been reading anything regarding the game hence I have no idea how it would end up. Apparently Nintendo played a heavy role in the game development, together with Shibata Mokoto (Tecmo) and Goichi Suda (Grasshopper Manufacture, No More Heroes). The thoughts of having anyone else other than Tecmo to develop the game kinda worries me, especially when they have no prior experience in survival horror genre.

I’m just being skeptical. Judging by the screenshots, the game seems to be looking good and fulfills 3 out of the 4 main points; hot looking female protagonist, eerie surroundings and creepy ghosts. Now all we need is for the story to be as good as the previous 3 games.

Regardless, I will definitely pick this game up when it’s out, crap or not.
